Mr. Wilhelmy is a member of the firm's Construction Law Practice Group.
Professional Qualifications
Mr. Wilhelmy has extensive experience representing architects, engineers, contractors, owners and suppliers in all phases of construction.
Mr. Wilhelmy’s construction practice includes contract review and negotiation, insurance analysis, coverage and claims, and securing the rights of his clients to payment from preliminary notices to various payment remedies, including stop notices, mechanic’s liens and bond claims. He has extensive experience in both private and public contracting, including bid protests on public works. He has litigated, mediated, and arbitrated construction disputes of all types, including complex construction payment disputes and construction defect cases. Mr. Wilhelmy has substantial experience in representing engineers in the defense of professional liability claims.
Mr. Wilhelmy has represented clients in highway and bridge construction, jail construction, and water treatment and water pumping plant construction. He has counseled clients and litigated disputes involving large retail projects, schools, fuel storage facilities, and performing arts projects.
Mr. Wilhelmy also represents clients in real estate disputes and in general business litigation. He serves as an arbitrator on the Construction Industry Panel of the American Arbitration Association. He is a member of the Associated General Contractors of California Legal Advisory Committee. Mr. Wilhelmy has presented seminars to architects, engineers and other construction professionals on a variety of topics including professional liability and payment remedies.
