Professional Qualifications

In his over 40 years of practice, Mr. Turner has argued three cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, more than 35 constitutional and civil rights cases in federal and state appellate courts, and has served as lead counsel in many state and federal trials. For eight years, he was a California Commissioner on Uniform State Laws.

A graduate of Harvard Law School in 1963, Mr. Turner has taught at the Harvard Law School and continues to teach first amendment law at the University of California, Berkeley. Mr. Turner's many publications include law review articles in the Harvard, Stanford, and other law reviews.
