Professional Qualifications

A founding member of Rogers Joseph O'Donnell, Mr. Rogers has practiced and taught law for 45 years. He tried to a verdict more than 150 jury cases and handled over 40 appellate cases. He was named California Trial Lawyer of the Year in 1980 by the American Board of Trial Advocates and was listed in all editions of "The Best Lawyers in America" published biannually by Woodward/White under both Business Litigation and Personal Injury Litigation until after his retirement in 1994.

In 1971 Mr. Rogers co-founded the Hastings Center for Trial and Appellate Advocacy and served that institution for twenty years. He was an assistant professor of law (adjunct faculty) at Hastings from 1973 to 1981, where he taught trial advocacy. He lectured in various parts of the country on various aspects of trial advocacy and insurance law and served as an expert witness in cases involving those fields of law. He served as judge pro tem of the San Francisco Superior Court for several years in the 70's and 80's and as a mediator and arbitrator. He is a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and the American College of Trial Lawyers.
