Areas of Practice
Ms. McKee is a member of the firm's Construction
Law, Government Contracts and Retail Trade Practice
Groups.
Professional Qualifications
Ms. McKee has represented owners and general contractors
in a variety of disputes involving sureties, claims
for delay, disruption and extra work, and construction
defects. Representative cases include: prosecuting
extra work and delay claims of a general contractor;
prosecuting claims against a surety for failure
to perform; defending allegations of false claims
by public entities; defending against allegations
of construction defects arising from the construction
of large condominium complex; defending a general
contractor from claims arising from the contractor's
termination. Ms. McKee also supports our Retail
Trade and Complex Commercial Litigation Groups
on a variety of matters, including the defense
of Proposition 65 enforcement actions, partnership
dissolution and commercial leasing disputes.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Ms. McKee worked as
a civil/structural engineer in design and construction
for a national design/build construction firm.
She was also a project manager for a commercial
steel fabricator/erector and has performed constructability
reviews and estimating for contractors.
Ms. McKee is currently the Chair of the Construction
Law Group for the Barristers Club of the San Francisco
Bar Association, a member of the American Society
of Civil Engineers, the American Bar Association,
and the California Bar Association. Since her
move to San Francisco from Cleveland in 2002,
Ms McKee has been active in the community, volunteering
and serving on event committees for a variety
of non-profit organizations.
