Areas of Practice
Mr. Carlson is co-chair of the firm's Complex Commercial
Litigation Practice Group.
Professional Qualifications
For more than twenty years Mr. Carlson has represented
clients in a broad range of complex business disputes.
Mr. Carlson practices in both state and federal
courts and has participated in several arbitration
and mediation proceedings before such entities
as the International Chamber of Commerce, the
American Arbitration Association and JAMS (Judicial
Arbitration and Mediation Services).
While Mr. Carlson has a broad litigation practice
he has considerable expertise in contract disputes,
business torts, unfair competition, successor
liability, trade secret, covenant not to compete,
stock option and false advertising matters.
Mr. Carlson has represented a wide range of clients,
including venture capitalists, small start-ups,
individuals, established entities and large public
companies. Mr. Carlson regularly advises clients
on preventative measures to avoid or minimize
disputes, and his practical and effective advice
is valued by clients.
Following graduation from law school Mr. Carlson
had a clerkship with the San Francisco Superior
Court. He then practiced law in Silicon Valley
with Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison from 1986
to 2003 and with Morgan Lewis & Bockius from
2003 to 2005.
