Mr. Arbuthnot is a member of the firm's Complex Commercial
Litigation, Construction Law, Environmental Law and Retail Industry Trade Regulation Practice Groups.
Professional Qualifications
Mr.
Arbuthnot concentrates on resolving a wide array of litigation issues that arise in the commercial context. He has a comprehensive background in all aspects of the civil litigation process, including jury trial experience. His practice encompasses disputes in a variety of industries, including technology, manufacturing, agriculture, retail, construction and real estate, among others. His commercial litigation experience ranges from shareholder actions against technology companies to breach of contract claims between international art galleries. He also litigates environmental claims, including alleged regulatory violations under Proposition 65 and other environmental quality statutes.
Mr. Arbuthnot was a full-time judicial extern
for the Honorable Charles R. Breyer of the Northern
District of California during his final semester
of law school. His duties consisted of analyzing
various complex constitutional and federal issues,
such as illegal banking practices under the Truth-in-Lending Act, and drafting Decision & Order
Memoranda on motions and writs pending before
the court.
